According to current surveys, there are around 15 million so-called net taxpayers in Germany. While the tabloid press in particular likes to speak of “people who keep the country going”, one could also clarify the term a little more objectively. Because net taxpayers are people who pay more money to the state than they receive from it via social benefits and transfers.
