Online trading on eBay & Amazon: From 2019, sellers at online marketplaces must have their tax office issue a certificate of safety. Thus, the financial administration confirms the tax registration of the trader. The merchant must then submit this registration certificate to Amazon & eBay in order to continue to sell products. Sellers who cannot provide a certificate of safety or do not comply with his tax payments will be blocked on eBay or Amazon. 1st declaration of safety from 1 March 2019 or 1 October 2019 for online marketplaces

The operators of such online marketplaces are obliged from 1 March 2019 (entrepreneurs from the third country) or from 1 October 2019 (entrepreneurs from the domestic, EU/EEA) to pass on the information about the sellers to the financial administration. Refusal of this obligation to notify leads to the operators being liable for the unpaid tax of the sellers. However, the operator can avoid liability by submitting a certificate of tax registration of the respective trader on his platform to the tax authorities.
